"Tropical Island" On the coast of the Costa del Sol, in the exquisite Nueva Andalucía, very close to the legendary Puerto Banús, a villa has emerged that could easily stand on the shores of the Indian Ocean. Its architect was inspired by the imagery of tropical bungalows—and here, among palm trees and sunlight, this concept has found a futuristic interpretation. Instead of huts made of bamboo and palm leaves, there is a system of separate, glazed cubic structures with sloping roofs. They stand like habitable gazebos, each breathing its own microclimate, yet together they form a single, harmonious organism.
The space between these "cubes" is filled with light and water. A huge swimming pool, mirroring the sky, becomes the central square of this miniature tropical village, and the walkways connecting the spaces resemble the streets of Southeast Asian settlements—except here, instead of earth underfoot, there is expensive stone, and instead of reed awnings, there is ultra-modern, top-tier glazing. In the play of transparent walls and lightweight roofs, one can see a deep respect for the ancient principle of natural architecture, where humans do not oppose the landscape but softly integrate into it.
Inside these glazed volumes, despite their openness to the world, a surprising sense of security is born. The architecture creates many intimate corners: cozy alcoves for reading, secluded spots for morning coffee, and private terraces where one can be alone with the wind. Each room brings a distinct mood, a separate scene in the play of a Mediterranean summer, and yet not a single square meter falls out of the general rhythm of light, water, and greenery.
There are five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, nearly a thousand square meters of interior space, and almost three hundred square meters of open terraces, but the layout is not felt through numbers. It is experienced as an endless infinity of transitions, a play of perspectives, and the ability to be simultaneously in plain sight and in complete privacy. Life here flows between two elements—the generous sun of the Costa del Sol and the coolness of the transparent walls, between the energy of the famous marina and the serenity of one's own garden.
This is not just a villa by the sea.
It is an architectural fantasy where a tropical dream meets European perfection. And when you step inside, it feels as if the surf can be heard somewhere nearby—even if at that very moment you are standing by the pool with a glass in hand, watching the palm trees sway in unison with the wind.
